With the State capital city reporting around 1,000 daily Covid-19 cases in the second wave of the pandemic, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday issued new rules for the crowded Unit-I vegetable market to facilitate social distancing. As per the rules, the wholesalers would be allowed for trading between 3.30 am and 6.30 am while the time for the retailers is between 6.30 am and 12 noon. The rule would be in effect till further orders by the BMC. This apart, two-wheelers would not be allowed inside the vegetable market during the period. Strict action shall be taken against the violators, the BMC warned.
