The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMC) has activated 24 hours tele counselling service for Covid-19 patients through its helpline no 1800 200 8701.

Mayor of North Delhi Jai Prakash informed that the civic body has introduced consultation from Ayurvedic doctors. However, residents can also take consultations from Allopathic doctor as well.

“All one need to do is to dial a helpline number and press 4 after that to get connected with doctors,” he said, adding that in cases of consultation required with allopathic doctors of Hindu Rao Medical College, one can press 3 after dialing helpline.

The mayor said since a large section of people, believe in Ayurveda system of medicine and treatment, North DMC has extended this service in addition to Allopathy.

“It is an important step towards providing consultations to the Covid patients who are under treatment especially at home and their attendants or their family members who are in trauma due to the pandemic. This helpline would certainly help in relieving their trauma and guide them towards the right line of treatment either in Allopathic or  Ayurvedic system of treatment and medicine,” he added.

Municipal Commissioner, Sanjay Goel said that the tele-counselling would be done by the senior faculty of Hindu Rao Medical College for Allopathic system of medicine, while senior Ayush doctors practicing in Ayurveda would respond to the queries of citizens as per their choice.

“Their rich experience and knowledge would help in treating the patients and their family members of the corona and mental trauma of the disease,” he said.

Jai Prakash further said that the civic body started covid helpline number 1800-200-8701 for the convenience of the citizens where they can get information related to covid testing centre, vaccination centre, hospital, covid care centre, isolation centre, lifting of biomedical waste, cremation/ burial ground and queries related to requirement of sanitization.

Now, this helpline as tele-counselling tool is real source of authentic information regarding line of treatment of disease and cure trauma through various branch of medicine and treatment, he said.
