The Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corp Ltd (CSML) on Wednesday described as "completely wrong" that it has set up a panel to initiate the opening of liquor shops during lockdown in the state.
The CSML clarified that no such order has been issued. The reported order which went viral on social media is "totally fake", it said in a press release.
Before the lockdown was imposed in the state last month, the CSML ruled that liquor will only be sold for customers who wear face masks.
Lockdown was imposed this month in 20 districts due to a spike in Corona cases and deaths in the state. All Collectors ordered closure of liquor shops during the lockdown.
