The Raipur administration on Wednesday said it has served further show cause notice to 12 teachers for skipping Covid-19 contact tracing duty after they failed to respond to the first notice.
Giving the last opportunity to the 12, the authorities asked them to appear at the Control Room at New Circuit House to explain their absence or face action under the Disaster Management Act and the Epidemic Diseases Act, a press release said.
The 12 are Yashwant Kumar Sinha, Surendra Kumar Yadu, Kamal Nath Deewan, Dinesh Dewangan, Jitendra Mishra, Sunil Kumar Bharti, Bhanupratap Dahariya, Santosh Kumar Netam, Dinadayal Sahu, Vinod Kumar Sahu, Yogesh Shukla and Santosh Kumar Sahu.
These 12 are among 24 employees who were served the notice on Monday by Raipur Additional Collector Padmini Bhoi.
The other 12 employees joined their contact tracing duty after the first notice.
On Tuesday, 2,821 people in Raipur were among 9,921 detected Covid-19 positive in Chhattisgarh.
