Now, RJD stakes claim in boards, corporations

Thursday, 22 July 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

After Congress, now Rashtriya Janata Dal has raised the demand for share in vacant the posts of boards, corporations and different commissions. The RJD leadership placed their demands recently staking claim on different districts and blocks. State President Abhay Kumar Singh said that RJD’s claim is on the post of twenty-point vice-president in six districts and twenty-point president in 29 blocks. Apart from this, there should also be a share in the board and commission.

Former minister Radhakrishna Kishore who switched sides to RJD from BJP ahead of the last Assembly poll too echoed the demand of RJD leadership. Kishore said, “It is not pressure politics but genuine demand of RJD leadership. It is due to the demand of RJD leadership.”  Kishore further said that the party is not asking for more as in the last Assembly poll, RJD contested on seven seats out of which the party won in one seat while in six others its performance was better.

In Palamu, Chatra, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Deoghar and Godda, RJD is entitled for the post of twenty-point vice-presidents. The same demand is being raised by Congress leadership ever since the Grand Alliance government came to power. The Congress leaders on different occasions have raised the demand for representation in boards and corporations.

A senior Congress leader requesting anonymity said, “The Congress on several occasions has raised their demand for boards and corporations. Our demand is for filling these posts.” The leader further said, “In Parliamentary democracy survival of an alliance government is only when all parties which part of government gets due share and respect are.”

The Congress leader however said they should not be apprehensive about the share. There is better coordination among the constituents of the Grand Alliance and everyone will participate according to their share. JMM has assured ally RJD it will get full stake in the board, corporation and commission. General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that RJD will get full rights. RJD is our ally. RJD should not worry about it and also do not tell the number on your behalf. RJD leaders will get more than they aspire. Sources said that the demand of RJD representation in boards and corporations can bring discomfort to the alliance in Jharkhand as Congress has been exerting pressure on the state government demanding one more ministerial berth in the Soren government. Moreover, Congress MLAs have been alleging that they are being neglected by the party higher-ups.
