Chhattisgarh Health Department on Tuesday decided to deploy nursing students to take care of Covid-19 patients.
The department has instructed the Chief Medical and Health Officers (CMHOs) to contact Nursing College heads in their districts and make arrangements to appoint nursing students in hospitals and Covid care centers, a press release said.
The Director of Health Service, Neeraj Bansod, has issued a circular to this effect.
The circular says that the services of MSc Nursing first year and second year students, BSC final year, Post Basic BSC Nursing first and second year as well as GNM final year students should be taken.
The department said 13,576 fresh Covid cases were reported on Monday, taking the total positive cases in Chhattisgarh to 4.56 lakh.
Also, 107 more Covid patients died, pushing the fatalities in the state to 5,031.
Currently, there are 98,856 active cases while 3.52 lakh people have recovered from the pandemic in Chhattisgarh.
