Though Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has urged the officials not to receive PC from the development projects, the Paikmal block of Bargarh district has been taking 22 per cent PC on all developmental works within its jurisdiction.
In the year 2020-21, work orders worth Rs 3, 50,000 were issued toHirapur village under Kechodadar panchayat of Paikmal for making a concrete road of a school and repairing of the school’s building from CFC funds in the name of GP’s Executive Officer. But the work was done by two Ward Members, namely, Bishambar Patra and Madhusudan Pradhan, of Hirapur village.
After completion of work, they received Rs 2,50,000 and restmoney Rs 77,000 was kept by officials for PC of BDO, AE, JE, andothers, which is 22% of the allocated cost. In this connection, Patraand Pradhan have filed a written complaint withBDO. Meanwhile, the locals have demanded a vigilance probe in case and action against culprits.
