The Chhattisgarh Police on Wednesday arrested three persons for operating an online cricket betting racket from a residential house in Bhilai city.
Durg Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal told The Pioneer that those arrested were Ashwani Kumar Pandey (24), Tejas Pandey (23) and Atul Patel (23), all residents of Saket Nagar in Bhilai.
Police seized a laptop, four mobile phones, two registers, Rs 2.38 lakhs in PayTm app and betting records detailing transactions of Rs 8.68 lakhs, Agrawal said.
They were taking bets on a cricket test played between India and England via CARRY777 software from a rented house.
