On the occasion of 152nd Birth Anniversary of Kasturba Gandhi, an Online Discussion was held on Facebook. The online discussion was held here on Sunday.
In the discussion Anuradha Shankar Singh, ADGP, Madhya Pradesh Police, R.K. Paliwal IRS (Retired) and renowned Singer Megha Dalton were present. The online discussion was organised by youth group Ansh Happiness Society.
Anuradha Shankar beautifully spoke how Baa wasn't just a shadow of Gandhi but an independent opinionated woman who never failed to be Gandhi's leading light in his needing moments.
RK Paliwal emphasised on Baa's eminent personality and the way she broke Patriarchal norms around her though small actions because of which people followed her. He also reiterated that Baa wasn't just an ideal human but much more than that, she is an ideology.
Megha Dalton, through her magnificent voice reminded us of the power of Baa's ideals through which she identified herself on grassroot level and because of which she is still considered an idol in many Adivasi communities of Jharkhand.The discussion was moderated by Yashasvi Kumud.
Kasturba Bai was an Indian political activist. She married Mohandas Gandhi in 1883. In association with her husband and son, she was involved in the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India. She was very influenced by her husband Mahatma Gandhi.
