Child Rights Observatory, Madhya Pradesh, organized an online workshop on the topic “Impact of Covid on Children and Role of Media”. The workshop was held on Saturday. The role of field journalists is important, due to them information about the education, health and safety of children from villages to towns could be received during the Corona period.
In the workshop, Raghuraj Singh made a presentation to the journalists of the districts and tehsils about the status of children's education, health especially mental health and safety during the Corona period in the state. In the conversation, the fact emerged that due to online education in the last 17 months of Corona, children's eyes have been affected and now a large number of children are wearing glasses of minus number and they are going through mental stress due to loneliness .
Regarding mental health, Sunil Shukla of Sarjana Academy gave suggestions regarding mental problems of children and parents. He informed about the psychological counseling platform 'Suljhan' and said that during the Corona period, mental disorders of children have emerged, which is a matter of great concern. Changes in the behavior of children are seen as such and special attention should be given to children.
The field journalists also informed about the education and health information of their respective areas. On behalf of the CRO, Rashmi Saraswat told the field journalists her expectations regarding the education and health of the children and said that the information you collect and publish is very useful and they help in advocating the government on the issues of children.
Apart from 25 journalists from 12 districts, 20 teachers and parents also participated in the workshop.
