Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said that 5,048 villages of the State are getting 24X7 power supply.

Presiding over the meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee in Gurugram where 14 problems were placed before the Chief Minister, out of which almost all were resolved on the spot,  he said that now smart meters are being installed in the State so that electricity consumers will be able to see their meter readings whenever they want and there will be transparency in terms of electricity consumption.

While resolving a problem related to electricity, the Chief Minister directed the Power Utilities officers to organize Janata Darbar in every area within a period of two months so that the problems related to power of that area can be solved. He said that during the tenure of the present State Government, excellent work has been done in the field of electricity. When our Government was formed in 2014, the line loss was 34 percent, which has now come down to 17 per cent. Earlier, subsidy of Rs 7,000 crore was given, but now it has come down to Rs 6,000 crore and efforts are on to reduce it further, said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that due to the installation of smart meters, the errors in electricity bills will also be reduced. If anyone has any doubt about the speed of their electric meter, then they can get it checked in the lab.
