Haryana Health Department on Friday administered the first dose to another 15,961 healthcare workers, the sixth day of the ongoing inoculation drive at different immunization sites in all 22 districts in the State.
So far 254 vaccine sessions have been held in the State and Covishield vaccine shots have been given to 61,637 beneficiaries since the inoculation drive started, State National Health Mission (NHM) director Dr VK Bansal said over the phone while talking to ‘The Pioneer’. He claimed that no serious adverse events have been reported so far from any parts of the State after immunization.

A woman healthcare worker died in Gurugram in Haryana on Friday, days after she had received a Covid-19 vaccine, but an official said that there was nothing yet to suggest any link with the vaccination. The 55-year-old woman died at her Gurugram home. A Gurugram health official said, “She had been administered Covid-19 vaccination on January 16. Her family reported her sudden death at her home today, but there is nothing yet to suggest and link with the vaccination.” The official further said, “We have sent her viscera for investigation and details will be known once the report comes.”
5 MORE DEATHS, 120 FRESH CASES IN HARYANA
With five more fatalities in Haryana on Friday, the Covid-19 death toll rose to 3005 while 120 new cases pushed the infection tally to 2,66,939, a State health department bulletin stated. Two fatalities were reported from Kaithal while one each from Panipat, Yamunanagar and Jhajjar districts. Among districts to report new cases include Faridabad (25), Gurugram (24), Panchkula (15) and Ambala Faridabad (15).
The number of active cases in the state stands at 1585 and 2,62,349 people have so far been discharged after recovery. The recovery rate stands at 98.28 per cent, the bulletin states.
