The Delhi Government on Monday constituted Oxygen Audit Committees (OAC) in their hospitals to ensure accurate and rational management of oxygen.
The Directorate of Health Services, Delhi Government issued an order in this regard stating oxygen is a critical ingredient in the management of certain categories of Covid patients and its consumption has undergone a quantum increase with admission of a large number of serious patients who require Oxygen support. This has led to unprecedented demand for Oxygen throughout the country leading to supply lines getting stressed. In such a situation, it is necessary that the stocks of Oxygen, and its consumption, is closely managed and rationalized.
DDU Hospital ,Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital , Ambedkar Nagar Hospital Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital, Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital Dr Ragi Jain, Prof. Anaesthesia, RGSSH ,Dr.Praveen Singh, Burari Hospital Dr. BSA Hospital, RGSS Hospital,Lok Nayak Hospital,JPSS Hospital, GTB Hospital and aSRHC Hospital are government hospitals where these committees will start their work with immediate effect.
These committees shall have to submit daily audit reports on daily stock of receipt, through Cylinders. consumption and balance stock of Oxygen, both LMO and will ensure that the use of Oxygen for management of COVID patients is rational and as prescribed treatment protocols and also identify areas of wasteful consumption and to suggest means for economizing Oxygen consumption.
