Pandit Kirtiram Smriti Samaroh held at Kala Bhavan

The Bhopalites enjoyed a sponteneous presentation of classical performances on Thursday at The Pandit Kirtiram Smriti Samaroh held at Kala Bhavan auditorium, Bhopal.

The performance was organised in memory of Kathak Guru Pandit Karthik Ram of Raigarh Gharana. It was organised by Vrinda Kathak Center, Bhopal and Directorate of Culture, Madhya Pradesh.

The Bhopalites witnessd a wondrous performance by Tabla player Ystad Farid Hussain, Bharatnatyam exponent Saurabh Tripathi and Kathak exponent V Anuradha Singh. The performance by emerging artists was mesmerising.

Ustad Farid Hussain and Akram Hussain are from Tonk, Rajasthan. Both of them performed tabla jugalbandi.

Next performance was by V Anuradha Singh. She is a world-renowned Kathak dancer, who is famous for her latest research in Kathak, to awaken Kathak in the heart of the masses. She has given new innovations by combining many books written by famous poets in Kathak. She have given a new height to pure Kathak with beautiful expressions and beautiful tones of handicrafts.

She began her performance with Shiva Vandana in 5 volume Sulafqa Tal. In three rhythms, she performed Ghughru in Pa Dhar Bol Paran and 5 Raya, along with the violin and performed Gungalru's Jugalbandi.

The raga was Hansdhwani. She presented enchanting rendition of  Krishna's Kalia Mardan plot with violin jugalbandi. She gave performance on Mori Chunariya Rang De, Kathak will conclude.

It was mesmerizing solo Kathak performance, dazzling with a very sophisticated, complex rhythm and precise expressions, left an indelible mark on the hearts of the audience and art lovers.

Recently after setting new dimensions of successful and excellent presentation of her Kathak in Ranchi, Jaipur, V Anuradha Singh in Bhopal enthralled everyone, representing her rich art and culture, at the Pan Kartik Ram Smriti function.

 Saurabh Tripathi, an Bharatanatyam dancer from Varanasi, performed the Khanda caste Alaripu after Shri Ganesh Kautavam. After this, he performed Ashtapadi composed by Jaydev followed with  "Chandan Chacharit", Raag Mohanam.

The final performance was Parvati vandana, Mahalakshmi, Saraswati and Durga Devi in Kirtanam in Raag Malika and Taal Malika.

Later, 50 budding artists of Bhopal in different groups of 5 - 55 years performed Kathak renditions of Shiva, Ganesh, Ram Bhajan besides Shuddha Kathak.
