Gopalpur MLA and former BJD leader Pradeep Panigrahi is expected to walk out of jail soon as the Orissa High Court (HC) granted him bail in a job fraud case on Friday.
The court granted him conditional bail in connection with the Tata Motors job fraud case registered at the Golanthara police station in Ganjam district.
A total of six cases are pending against Panigrahi and the court has granted him bail in all the cases, paving the way for his release from the Jharpada Special Jail, Bhubaneswar. Notably, on December 3 last, the MLA was arrested after evidences came to light suggesting that he collected money from people on behalf of his would-be son-in-law Akash Kumar Pathak, son of arrested IFS officer Abhay Pathak, on the pretext of providing them jobs in the Tata Motors.
