In the ongoing probe into the case of rape and murder of five-year-old Pari in Nayagarh district, the accused minor Saroj Sethy refused to undergo a brain mapping test after being produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) here on Wednesday.
The investigating agency Special Investigation Team (SIT) had produced the 17-year-old boy before JJB seeking permission for conducting his brain mapping test in connection with the sensational case that took place at Jadupur village on July 14. However, Saroj denied to undergo the scientific examination by the SIT.Earlier on January 8, Saroj had also refused to undergo a narco analysis test in the case sought by the SIT, following which the JJB rejected the SIT’s plea for the narco test.
During the course of investigation, SIT chief IPS officer Arun Bothra has revealed that Saroj had put Pari’s dead body in a gunny bag and dumped it at a bush near a pond in the village and covered the bag with coconut tree branches. sMeanwhile, Pari’s mother has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court seeking a CBI investigation into the case.
Notably, the girl’s parents, who had accused one Babuli Nayak of their area of killing their daughter, and claimed that Nayak being an associate of Minister and Nayagarh MLA Arun Sahoo was being shielded by Minister, are not satisfied with the SIT investigation.
