People’s support needed to win corona battle: CM

Thursday, 15 April 2021 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the Government is making every possible effort to deal with corona crisis, but without the active support of the public, we will not be able to win this battle. It is necessary that every person becomes aware to end Corona infection. Everyone has to understand that to wear a mask, keeping a distance of 2 yards, washing hands frequently and not leaving the house until necessary is very important till Corona infection ends.

Chouhan said that it is a matter of pleasure that more than 92,000 people have registered themselves as Corona volunteers in Madhya Pradesh. They are all ready to serve the people in this hour of crisis. I am confident that this Volunteers Sena will do wonders and the state will soon overcome the Corona crisis.

Chouhan was interacting with Corona Volunteers and members of Jan Abhiyan Parishad through video conferencing in Mantralaya on Wednesday. Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang, Vice Chairman of Jan Abhiyan Parishad from Ujjain, Vibhas Upadhyay, and Corona Volunteer, member of Jan Abhiyan Parishad from NIC chamber of the district attended the video conference.

The Chief Minister said that at present, the country and the world are going through a terrifying phase of Corona crisis. In Madhya Pradesh the highest number of 2600 cases per day was recorded in the first round in Madhya Pradesh in the month of September, now 10,000 cases have come up. The government is making arrangements at war footing. In the last 5 days, 16 hundred beds have been increased in the state. Covid Care Centers have been set up in each district. Adequate arrangements of Remdesivir injection and oxygen are being arranged. Small plants of oxygen are being set up.

Chouhan said that Corona Volunteers should work mainly at four levels. First- to help people in Corona related treatment, to get them examined and to take them to the hospital. Secondly, to motivate everyone above 45 to get vaccinated, take them to the vaccination centers and assist in the arrangements at vaccination centers.

Third- to make people wear masks, keeping 2 yards distance, etc and making people aware of Corona related precautions. Fourth- to motivate people to impose curfew in their streets, locality, ward, rural areas through self-motivation and not leave their houses.
