The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) organised a road-show here on Wednesday to promote 11th City Gas Distribution (CGD) bidding round. PNGRB is nodal agency for facilitating economic activities in natural gas distribution with an objective to promote competitive markets, create infrastructure and increase share of natural gas in country's energy mix.
The roadshow was part of a series of such shows being planned in different parts of India by PNGRB and witnessed participation from senior officials of government , academia, bankers, consumers and investors from oil and gas sector. Speaking on occasion, the member PNGRB, Gajendra Singh said this is a big initiative in direction of providing clean energy to consumers in Uttarakhand. In presentation of 11th CGD Bidding Round, PNGRB highlighted opportunities in CGD sector in Uttarakhand and India, gas infrastructure of Uttarakhand and India as well as key policy thrusts that will boost domestic gas market. At present, CGD authorizations is given by PNGRB in four GAs in Uttarakhand covering the districts of Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar, Dehradun and Nainital. Now, in 11th CGD bidding round, GAs covering 9 districts namely Pauri Garhwal, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Tehri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Almora, Chamoli and Bageshwar are being offered by PNGRB.
