On Sunday, play Artu Jitu - Rang Rangeela Gittu Girgit was presented at the Shadow Box Theatre Festival, raising the concern and many serious questions.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the shadow box, Sunday's presentation focused exclusively on children at the festival. Dhanendra Kawande of Balaghat, had brought this presentation. Dhanendra is also known for children's theatre.
Regarding his presentation, he told that we all wear different colors figuratively and literally. But a chameleon has no colour, it changes colour according to its surroundings. Nature has given chameleons a tool for survival. But what if nature itself starts running out of colours. The trees are losing green colour. There is no blue colour left in the sky. The sun is turning red. In short, nature is losing a war.
A phenomenon is happening continuously which we call global warming. Gittu is a simple chameleon who wants to bring color back to life. That is his mission. Which forces people to think about what we are doing for our planet.
The story is of Rang Rangeela Gittu Girgit.Gittu Girgit wants to become a painter and paint the whole world with his paints but he thinks that he does not have enough colours. Later it is learned that nature has already given them all the colours. Now it is their responsibility to use it frugally and pay their dues towards the earth on time. Gittu does not give any sermon to save the earth. Rather he wants to bring back the colors of the earth.
