An  Improvised Explosive Device (IED) weighing 30 kg and other incriminating materials were seized during a joint combing operation by CRPF and Giridih police in the forest areas of Chitramo forest in the district on Friday.

According to sources, a bomb disposal squad defused the bomb suspected to be planted by the Maoists in the forest. The combing operation has been intensified in the forest following the recovery of explosives.

Giridih police and security forces are getting success continuously during the ongoing anti-Naxal operations against Maoists. On Friday, the joint operation of the CRPF and the District Police Force against the Maoists was going on.

The joint operation was launched in Chitramo village in Dumari under the same police station limits, on the basis of specific information received,by ASP Gulshan Tirky had led to uncovering of the Maoist hideout along with seizure of IED,and other explosives.

Police sources said that during the operation, the movement of the force took place near Chitramo forest in Dumri police station area of Giridih.  During this time a 30 kg ID bomb was found planted under the bridge near Chitramo forest.

The security force took the front after getting the ID at the bottom of the bridge and secured the ID under the first bridge by sieging the area from all sides.

After this, on the instructions of the ASP, the 30 kg ID was blasted and deactivated after seeing it in a deserted place.

The purpose of setting up an ID plant under the bridge was only to harm the security forces but it was already given strong input by the ASP's intelligence plant to plant the bomb under the bridge. Therefore, the Maoists plan once again collapsed.
