Piplani police have arrested a drug peddler carrying drugs weighing around 2 kg near Bhagat Singh market on Tuesday.
The action was taken after receiving information that drug peddler is active in the area and is targeting students of Indrapuri and other areas.
Police received information that Cannabis has been brought by drug peddler and is sold in small quantities to students and other people.
A police reached rushed to the spot and find a man walking towards Bhagat Singh market .The police seized over 2 kg of Cannabis which was carried in bag. The drug peddlers was identified as Javed alais Rehan.
During the initial investigation it was found that the accused was on his way to sell Cannabis which he had hidden at his house. The details of procurement and were he was scheduled to sell the drugs. After the initial investigation police have registered a case under sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act. The crime record of the accused would be investigated. The local connection of drug peddlers would be investigated in the further investigation.
The drug peddler used to sell drugs in small quantities which helped him to evade suspicion and arrest and used to sell drugs to make big money and was planning to tried to sell large quantity of Cannabis.
