Kolar police have arrested three drug peddlers carrying drugs worth Rs 57.50 lakh, a SUV and two mobile phones near Semri jod on Saturday; Cannabis weighing 230 kg was seized from the drug peddlers.
Police acted swiftly after receiving information of drug peddlers would bring massive quantity of drugs and nabbed three drug peddlers in car bearing registration number M39G2859.
A police reached rushed to the spot and after waiting for sometime drug peddlers appeared and were nabbed. Police have seized 230 kg of Cannabis which were carried in bag and suitcase. The drug peddlers were identified as Deepak Vishwakarma(24), Jeevan Singh Rajput (23) and Sunil Sharma (40).
Sunil has been booked for drug peddling by Odisha police and Kolar police. The car was searched and 46 packets were recovered which were carrying drugs.
The police have registered case under section 8 and 20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. During the investigation accused confessed that the drugs were brought from Rajmandi area of Andra Pradesh.
The drugs were scheduled to be delivered in state capital and near by areas and would be investigated. The local connection of drug peddlers would be investigated in the further investigation. Accused used to sell drugs in small quantities in Bhopal and near by areas. The accused are active in drug peddling.
