Jharkhand Director General of Police (DGP) MV Rao said in Ramgarh on Saturday that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the case of recovery of body of a Hazaribagh Medical College student, Pooja Bharti, from Patratu Dam and the police will crack the case very soon.
Rao said that the investigation is in the final stages and the matter will be revealed within two days. After that all the information will be shared with the media. The investigation should not be affected, therefore, it is important to have a secret, he added.
The DGP held a meeting with senior police officials on Bharti’s death case. IG, Saket Kumar Singh, DIG, Amol Homkar Venukant, Hazaribagh SP, Karthik S, Ramgarh SP, Prabhat Kumar, SDPO, Prakash Chandra Mahato, Patratu SDPO, Anuj Oraon, Ramgarh Headquarters DSP Prakash Soy were present in the meeting.
The body of Bharati was found with tied hands and feet in Patratu Dam, Ramgarh on January 12. Pooja was a resident of Godda, who was studying in Hazaribagh. Police recovered plastic rope, belt, food items, water bottle and others from the spot. The DIG of Hazaribagh constituted an SIT for investigation.
Rao said that the SIT is doing research on several points. Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Ranchi and Godda police are engaged in investigation in the case of Pooja Bharti.
