Punjab Govt to regularise services of safai sewaks, sewerage men

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday said that the State Government will soon complete the process of regularizing the services of safai sewaks and sewerage men in the State.

The Chief Minister, addressing the gathering after handing over Rs 1.83 crore cheque for development of Bhagwan Valmiki Bhawan, said that the State Government has already set the ball rolling for regularizing the services of safai sewaks and sewerage men. The entire process will be completed shortly to give reprieve to these people, said Channi, adding that he has already passed on the necessary directions regarding the same.

“The State Government is leaving no stone unturned for the well being of the poorest of poor section of society. This is part of the State Government’s commitment to ensure comprehensive development of the State and prosperity of its people. Our Government is making concerted efforts to make Punjab a front runner state in the country,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that in order to perpetuate the rich legacy of Bhagwan Valmiki ji in every nook and corner of the world, Punjab Government has already announced a budgetary grant of Rs five crore annually for already existing the Bhagwan Valmiki Ji’s Chair in Guru Nanak Dev University.

FOUNDATION STONE OF “ATAL APARTMENTS” LAID TO FULFILL DREAM OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR ALL

Taking a leap forward towards realizing the dream of affordable housing for all, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday laid the foundation stone of ambitious “Atal Apartments” in Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar area on Pakhowal Road in Ludhiana. “This project is being constructed by Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) under “100 percent Self Financing Scheme” and would have 12-storeyed 336 HIG and 240 MIG flats,” said the Chief Minister adding that providing affordable housing to its residents is the first and foremost priority of the Congress-led Punjab Government. He said that LIT is coming up with this scheme in 8.80 acres near Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana. “The land for the proposed flats is in the possession of Ludhiana Improvement Trust,” he said, adding that interested persons can apply for this scheme till December 18, 2021, and the draw of lots will be carried out on December 24, 2021.

TRAUMA CENTRE IN BABA SAHEB’s NAME TO COME UP AT LUDHIANA

Punjab Government will construct a state-of-the-art Trauma Centre in the name of Bharat Ratna Baba Sahib Dr BR Ambedkar at Ludhiana. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, addressing a gathering after dedicating Ambedkar Bhawan to the masses, also handed over Rs 4.14 crore cheque to Ludhiana Municipal Corporation for completing the ongoing works at the prestigious Ambedkar Bhawan in the district.

“The Trauma Centre will be a real tribute to Baba Sahib Dr Ambedkar and will be set up at a cost of Rs 10 crore,” he said. Giving a major respite to the street vendors (rehri/fadi), the Chief Minister announced that these hard workers will not be unnecessarily harassed by the Police or administration. “These street vendors should work fearlessly as the Chief Minister is their voice from now onwards,” he said.

11 KANAL ALLOTTED TO DURGA MATA MANDIR MANAGEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SUPER SPECIALTY HOSPITAL

The Chief Minister on Thursday announced to allot an alternate piece of land to Durga Mata Mandir Management for the construction of an ultra-modern super specialty hospital. The Chief Minister, who paid obeisance at the holy Durga Mata Mandir, said that the temple’s management was doing real service of society by imparting quality health services to the people in temple premises only. “However, this needs to be given more boost for which a hospital site of 11 Kanal, equivalent to the existing temple complex, will be allotted by the State Government,” he said while also announcing to shift the Police station in the vicinity of the temple to a new place and allot it to the temple.
