The Uttar Pradesh budget aims to strengthen the road network in the state. There is an allocation Rs 12,441 crore for the construction of new roads and bridges. The government has made provisions in the budget of the Public Work Department (PWD) keeping in mind the connectivity of villages with roads and connectivity in rural areas.
In its fifth budget, the government has made an allocation of Rs 4,135 crore for the maintenance of roads and bridges. For connecting villages with main roads, blocks and tehsils, a provision of Rs 695 crore has been made for the PWD.
The Yogi government has proposed Rs 440 crore for road construction under the Uttar Pradesh Core Road Network Project assisted by the World Bank.
The government has made a provision of Rs 208 crore in the budget for the construction of roads under the Uttar Pradesh Main District Development Project in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank.
In its budget, the Yogi government is going to make major decisions for hassle-free traffic on rail tracks. A provision of Rs 1,192 has been made for the construction of railway over bridges in the state.
