Rail Vikas Nigam to augment health services in Srinagar

The Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has come forward to support the health services in the Srinagar Medical College of Uttarakhand. The corporation would set up a 10 bed ICU and install an oxygen plant of 1000 LMP capacity in the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali medical college, Srinagar. The corporation would also set up a five bed ICU in the Joint hospital Srinagar. 

These decisions were taken in a virtual meeting of officials chaired by State Minister Dhan Singh Rawat on Wednesday.  In the meeting the minister reviewed the health services in Srinagar which is his assembly constituency. He said that the work on construction of the 30 bed ICU in the medical college should be expedited. The Minister also directed the principal of the medical college and the officers of RVNL to start the 10 bed ICU developed by the corporation. He said that Srinagar is the heart of Garhwal region and the number of people visiting the medical college is continuously increasing.

He said that in view of the increasing patient load the facilities in the Srinagar medical college are being continuously augmented. The minister said that the RVNL is also setting up a 52 bed hospital in Srinagar for providing better health care to the people. He expressed gratitude to the officials of the corporation for the initiatives taken by it.

The meeting was attended by NHM Uttarakhand director Sonika, district magistrate of Pauri, VK Jogdande, the principal of Srinagar Medical College Dr CMS Rawat, Chief Medical Officer  of Pauri, Dr Manoj Sharma and Deputy General Manager (DGM) of RVNL Vijay Dangwal and others.
