Several parts of the State, including the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, received rainfall on Sunday under the influence of a low pressure.“The Low Pressure Area over north Telangana and neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea-level tilting southwestwards with height persists,” the weather office said.Many parts of the State would experience thunderstorms and moderate rainfall till October 22, the Regional Office of India Meteorological Department (IMD) here.
The IMD also issued heavy rainfall warning for several districts like Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Baleswar, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur in the next 24 hours. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.
