PCC chief Mohan Markam on Thursday criticized former Chief Minister Raman Singh for alleging a steep increase in serious cases of crime in Chhattisgarh.
Markam said In a statement that before commenting on the Bhupesh Baghel government, he should recall the crime rate in BJP-ruled states.
Reacting to Singh's tweet, Markam said the National Crime Records Bureau had said that BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh topped the states reporting most crimes in the country.
Before speaking on Chhattisgarh, Singh must say something about the neighbouring state, the Congress leader said.
Raman Singh had accused Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel of turning Chhattisgarh into a Jungle Raj. He quoted NCRB as saying that the state was seeing a steep increase in cases of murder, dacoity and rape.
