Jharkhand witnessed a spike in daily corona cases in the past one week due to festival season. In Jharkhand it is the State capital, which has particularly seen a surge in the pandemic cases. On Tuesday, 11 fresh cases were reported, while in State 16 new cases were reported. Earlier, on Monday 13 fresh cases were reported across the State, while in Ranchi alone 11 cases were detected.
Apart from Ranchi, the districts, which reported new cases, are West Singhbhum, Jamtara, Khunti, Pakur and West Singhbhum reporting one case each. As per figure compiled by the health department, the active caseload of the disease reached 120 on Tuesday as fresh cases of coronavirus outnumbered Covid recoveries.
However, the big relief is that out of 24 districts, 18 districts did not have active cases.
An IMA official requesting anonymity said, "It is a matter of relief that several districts in Jharkhand are not reporting any fresh cases, but at the same time it is worrisome that Ranchi still reports more than 80 per cent of total cases. We are scared that if people don't follow proper Covid protocols then in festivals once again there will be a spike in cases particularly in urban areas."
The best way to check the infection is to follow proper Covid protocols, while visiting pandals. Wearing of marks, use of sanitizers and social distancing should be followed strictly, he said. Many puja pandals have set up vaccination centres, where devotees are being administered vaccine shots.
As per Government records, more than 1.51 crore residents have received at least one dose of vaccine against Covid 19 and at least 45 lakh of them have received the booster dose.
In Ranchi the district administration has introduced various methods for checking the infections; mobile vaccination is one such initiative. The mobile van in Ranchi has administered doses to one lakh people with preference provided to elderly people and those who are unable to reach vaccination centres.
In Jharkhand the total corona cases is 348381 while at the same time 343126 people have recovered from infections. The death case in Jharkhand due to pandemic infection is 5135.
