Remdesivir crisis sets in Doon

The claim of the state government notwithstanding the Dehradun district has been hit by the shortage of life saving injection Remdesivir. The relatives of the patients allege that some of the private medical shops are selling the injection at inflated prices. Many private hospitals are also claiming shortfall of the injection considered crucial for the critical patients. “We are having very limited supply of Remdesivir and are giving the injection only to the patients admitted in our hospital,’’ said an official of a prominent private hospital. When this correspondent tried to contact the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun on supply of the injection his phone went unanswered.
