In order to make Ranchi a cleaner city, a campaign called 'Chalo Ranchi ko Ramnik Banayen' has been launched by the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) January 8 to January 15.

The campaign, launched as per the directives of Municipal Commissioner Mukesh Kumar, will focus on collecting garbage dump from various places across the State capital.

In this regard, on January 13, piles of long standing garbage was collected from Lalji Hilji Road, Project Building Road, Argora Chowk Kokar and various other places. The civic body has also started a toll free number- 0651 2200011 for Ranchiites to lodge their complaints regarding garbage collection.

"The campaign launched by the Municipal Commissioner aims to clean the long standing garbage found at various places across the City. As per the directives any calls received on the toll number also need to be addressed at the earliest," said an RMC requesting anonymity.

The campaign is being monitored by Deputy Municipal Commissioner Shankar Yadav and Kunwar Singh Pahan along with Assistant Municipal Commissioner Jyoti Kumar Singh. The entire campaign is also being monitored using drone cameras.

In this regard, beautification work of popular public places across the City has also been initiated by RMC. Steps of Pahari Templs and walls of Bada Talab have been painted with graffiti art by local artists in bright colours.

"Earlier the walls surrounding Bada Talab had posters and advertisements regarding various products and services. The walls have now been cleaned and painted with graffiti art highlighting the importance of cleanliness," stated the official.
