Roohani sisters to perform Sufi songs at Lokrang

After many renowned Sufi singers performed Sufi Gayaki in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 at Lokrang, this time another noted name in Sufi sangeet Roohani Sisters would give a performance in Bhopal.

Jagriti Luthra Prasanna and Neeta Pandey Negi are known as Roohani Sisters.

To observe the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a cultural event ‘Peer Parayi Jaane Na Re’ would be held at  Ravindra Bhavan. Under the event, Roohani Sisters would perform Sufi sangeet before the Bhopalites.

Each year, Lokrang concludes with Peer Prayi Jaane Na… Presenting various cultural events this year too, the fest would conclude on January 30 with the sufi tunes in the melodious voice of Roohani Sisters.

The event is organized by the Directorate of Swaraj Sansthan at the Lokrung Festival.

Jagriti has had the opportunity to lear the nuances of Indian Classical Music from Smt. Ketaki Banerjee if Kirana Gharana and is currently learning Indian Classical Music from Padma Vibhushan Pt. Rajan Sajan Mishra JI of Banares Gharana, and is also a sincere disciple of Ustad Sakhawat Husaain Khan Sahab of Rampur-Seheswan Gharana, from whome she is learning SufI Qalams and Ghazals.

Neeta’s initial training of Indian Classical Music involves the contribution of Shri Vipin Mudgaliya of Gandharva Mahavidyala and Smt. Ketaki Banerjee of Kirana Gharana. She has learnt Ghazals and Voice Modulation and stage presentation techniques from Smt. Charanjeet Soni and Shri Sujeet Kumar Gupta. And currently, she is getting trained in Indian Classical, Semi Classical, ghazals and Sufi MusIc by Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan Sahab, khalifa of Dilli Gharana.
