Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Saturday handed over a cheque of Rs  1 crore to the family of corona warrior Deep Chand who lost his life due to Covid-19 while serving people in a Covid ward.

Jain met with the family and extended his condolences and presented the financial aid of Rs 1 crore to the family on behalf of the Delhi Government.

"In this tough time we are standing with the family", Jain tweeted.

He said that Deep Chand was a corona warrior who lost his life while saving others. “We are indebted to his sacrifice. He was a Corona Warrior who lost his life while saving others,” he said.

Last year, the Delhi Government announced financial assistance to all frontline workers who get infected with Covid while on duty and pass away. Many frontline workers have been given ?1 Crore compensation by the Delhi Government since then.
