Saturday, 27 November 2021 | PNS | PARADIP

Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shantanu Thakur came on Friday on a two-day visited to the Paradip Port to review the regular works and projects. The Minister was given a warm welcome by PPT Chairman PL Haranadh and Deputy Chairman AK Bose.

Thakur told a media meet that the Centre would invest over Rs 10,000 crore to make the Paradip Port a clean, green and smart port and this port would be the best one in the country on the east coast.

He also informed about the modernisation and ancillary development work of the port. The completion of the 1,500-km pipeline from Paradip to Assam would increase the port's cargo traffic. A special terminal berth worth Rs 700 crore would be constructed for transportation of LPG.
