The Sasakawa-India Leprosy Foundation(S-ILF), has started a learning centre for children living at Leprosy Colony in Rourkela.
The new centre at Rourkela, which is the first in Odisha and the 11th in the country, was inaugurated by Tata Steel CEO & MD and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) president TV Narendran.
These learning centres provide an opportunity to enable all-round development of children living in marginalised leprosy colonies with an emphasis on both curricular and extracurricular activities including sports and hobbies.
S-ILF chairman Tarun Das recalled the major milestones in the foundation’s 15 years’ journey and newer initiatives such as decentralisation of offices.
