Salary dues paid to skilled workers of Gumla after Govt intervention

After the intervention of the State government, 12 skilled workers of Gumla working in L&T Company in East Mumbai (Maharashtra) have been paid their dues. The company has paid Rs 1,83,066 to skilled workers. After getting the salary, everyone has expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta and State Migrant Control Room under Labour Department.

According to the information, a total of 12 skilled workers of Bagesera village located in Palkot block of Gumla district had gone to work as carpenter/ aluminium/ centering in L&T Company at East Mumbai. They were working in the company since last year (February 2020). All of them had taken training in Khunti's Kalyan Gurukul.

Wages were not paid to these 12 skilled workers since the lockdown, due to which there was a huge problem of food and drink in front of them. On October 8, 2021, these skilled workers contacted the State Migrant Labour Control Room and informed them about their problems. After this, on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the representative of the control room spoke to the manager of L&T in this regard and got the total dues of Rs 1,83,066 paid. All the skilled workers are presently in Mumbai and working in L&T company.
