The Central Committee of Utkal Sammillani celebrated the 86th Utkal Divas in the State capital by holding public meetings and garlanding the statues of founding fathers of modern Odisha Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das, Krushna Chandra Gajapati Narayan Dev, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, Bamada Raja Basudev Sudhal Deo and founding president of Utkal Sammilani Ramachandra Bhanja Deo.
Recalling the rich contributions made by the founding leaders, the guests at the meeting appealed the people to join the campaign for solving the longstanding border disputes with the neighbouring States.
Besides these, leaders of the Sammilani demanded that the Government come out with a Gazette notification mentioning the time of use of Odia as an official language and penal actions for violations of the same.Among others, Sammilani general secretary Radhanath Praharaj, Er Satyajit Nayak and Er Jitendra Padhi spoke. Even after 85 years of the formation of the separate State, Odisha’s borders are not safe and it is time to rededicate ourselves to save our borders, felt leaders of Utkal Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial Estate Branch while observing the event here.
The day began with garlanding the statues of the founding president Maharaja Ramachandra Bhanja Deo and later a public meeting was organised to pay tribute to the founders who contributed to the formation of Odisha State.
The meeting was chaired by Mancheswar Industrial Estate unit president Dillip Dashsharma. Among others, advisor Nimai Charan Das and vice president Sheetal Charan Mohanty spoke.
