Schools reopen for X, XII students in State

Tuesday, 27 July 2021 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

After being closed for almost three months due to the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, schools and higher secondary schools across the State reopened for Classes-X and XII students on Monday.

However, this classroom learning will go in tandem with online learning as some students are unable to attend schools for different reasons.

The classes will now continue to be held from 10 am to 1.30 pm without recess hour. The schools will remain closed on all Government holidays.

Meanwhile, the State Government is also planning to reopen the schools for Classes-IX and XI students from August 16 and September 15, respectively.

The following guidelines have been issued by the School and Mass Education Department regarding reopening of schools.

a) Online/distance learning shall continue to be the preferred mode of teaching and shall be encouraged. Where schools are conducting online classes and some students prefer to attend online classes rather than physically attend school, they may be permitted to do so.

b) Online and classroom learning will go in tandem with each other and should continue to share timelines and daily schedules to ensure synchronisation.

c) Students may attend schools/institutions in consultation with their parents or guardians. Attendance must not be enforced.
