Sunday, 21 February 2021 | PNS | Dehradun

On the problems faced by the employees in the newly launched State Government Health Scheme (SGHS), the comprehensive health insurance scheme, the representative of several employee associations held discussions with the top officials of State Health Authority (SHA) on Saturday. In the meeting, the employee association told the officials that the cash payment from the patients covered under the SGGS is being sought in some empanelled hospitals and not all diseases are covered under the scheme. They suggested that the former practice of cash reimbursement should be continued for treatment in non empanelled hospitals. They members of the association demanded inclusion of more super speciality hospitals in the panel of the hospitals under the scheme and reduction in the contribution from the employees for the scheme. They suggested that the OPD expenses should also be covered under the scheme. The Chairman of the SHA, D K Kotia assured the representatives of the employees that their suggestions would be looked into and the policy issues would be placed before the state administration.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the SHA Arunendra Singh Chauhan, Director administration Dr Archna Srivastava and other officers were present on the occasion.
