Shah slams Akhilesh, Maya govts for neglecting development

Monday, 02 August 2021 | Amresh Mishra | Mirzapur

Slamming the previous Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati governments for neglecting development, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the present governments at the Centre as well as in Uttar Pradesh were committed for the welfare of the people without any discrimination.

Patting the back of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his efforts in controlling law and order, Shah said the UP government had brought the semblance of crime-free society, including the eradication of Naxalism from the region, and attachment of the properties of criminals.

Shah was speaking at a function at the famous Vindhyavasini temple here on Sunday after laying the foundation stone of the Vindhya corridor project in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Shah and Yogi Adityanath also worshipped at the Maa Vindhyavasini temple and inaugurated the ropeway project.

Union minister of state and Apna Dal MP Anupriya Patel and UP Tourism Minister Neelkanth Tiwari were also present.

Shah also explained in detail the schemes for the interests of poor people and appealed to the masses to support the BJP in the 2022 assembly polls as “BJP gets the strength to work only with people's blessings”.

"We are serving 135 crore people of the country and 80 crore girls and children are benefited. You give a chance to the BJP in 2022. I am grateful to the UP government for developing Vindhyavasini Dham," he added.

In his address, Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath said that the political indecisiveness of the previous governments in the country was being resolved and with the vision of ‘Raj Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha’ all the development works were being completed by the BJP government.

He said on August 5, food grains would be distributed to one crore people by the prime minister and on that day history would be written in golden letters.

Talking about the development of Mirzapur, the chief minister said that a medical college had been set up by the grace of the prime minister and the district would become a centre of education. He said along with being the centre of tourism, the work of making the district a centre of faith had started.

Yogi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given Kashi a new color and Chitrakoot and Naimisharanya had also been developed as places of religious tourism. He said the new ropeway connecting Ashtabhuja and Kalikhoh would add footfalls.

“With the power of Maa Vindhyavasini, there will be immense facilities for tourism. Employment will increase. Every household in Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, and Bundelkhand will have tap water facilities in rural areas,” he added.

As soon as the chief minister reached the stage, the slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Maa Vindhyavasini ki Jai’ welcomed him.

Mirzapur MP and Union minister of state Anupriya Patel said that the home minister had changed the history and geography of India by abolishing Article 370. She said the borders of the country were now more secure than before. Patel said that the government had done a great job by giving 27 per cent reservation to the backward class students in the NEET examination. She also raised the demand for establishment of Vindhya University.
