The Gamak series focused on the activities of multiple disciplines, was broadcasted online on Thursday. Under the series, 'Ghazal singing' by Ahmed Raza and group, Javra was streamed live on Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum YouTube Channel.
It is to be noted that the event was organised in association with Urdu Sahitya Academy.
In Sham-e-Ghazal by Ahmed Raza along with his group performed lyrical compositions of various writers. He started off with the composition by Masood Gulshan ‘Tumhari Yaad Mein Palkien Bichaye Baithey Hain, Chale Bhi Aao Ke Mehfil Sajaye Baithey Hain, it was followed with Ranjish Hi Sahi, Dil Hi dukhane Ke Liye Aa.
He then performed a ghazal by Javed Akhtar Tumo Dekha Toh Yeh Khayal, Zindagi Dhoop Tum Ghana Saaya, followed by Poet Fayaz Hashmi's ghazal Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Na Karo.
He also performed the ghazals of Jyoti Azad, Nusrat Mehndi, Bashir Badr.
He was accompanied on Tabla by Parvez Faridi, on Keyboard by Kana Jamda, on Guitar by Amir Raza and on Octopod by Tahir Raza.
Ahmed Raza got the inspiration for music from his father, Allahiday Khan, in his childhood, he received music education from his father, after that he received formal education in music from Ustad Pyare Khan and Ustad Rafiq. Raza has accompanied many great Ghazal singers in singing. He has received the Lata Mangeshkar Award in the year 2004 and Swarshree Award in the year 2008. He is an 'A' grade artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan, New Delhi.
