Shankar lecture on ‘Yoga and Advaita Vedanta’ held at ASCIT

The Shankar lecture was organized on Sunday by Acharya Shankar Cultural Integration Trust. In this event, Swami Shivdhyanam Saraswati of Bihar Yoga School gave a lecture on the subject of 'Yoga and Advaita Vedanta'.

He said that Vedanta considers the nature of the living being, the world and God. According to Advaita Vedanta, all are Brahma Swarupa. He further explained Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga and Kriya Yoga andThere are thrre outdoor aspects - Karmayoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga.Hatha Yoga and Karmayoga leads to malaise, Raja Yoga and Bhakti Yoga prevent deflection and Kriya Yoga and Jnana Yoga.

Finally he gave a challenge to his Guru and urged everyone to always be happy.Niranjan Challenge Can you be happy 24 hours?

After his early education, Swami Shivdhyanam Saraswathi graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and did his Masters from MIT America. Inspired by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, he joined Bihar Yoga School as a teenager. In 2003, he started Brahmachari life in Bihar Yoga School. Then Swamiji received the initiation of renunciation from Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati ji and presently he is the President of Bihar Yoga Bharati - Institute of Yogavidya Higher Studies. Swamiji propagates Yoga and Vedanta in the country and abroad through many knowledge-yagyas and camps.Bihar Yoga School is dedicated to the research, preservation and global expansion of Yoga.

 It was founded in 1963 in Munger, Bihar by Swami Satyananda Saraswati with the inspiration of Swami Shivanand Saraswati. In 2019, Bihar Yoga School was awarded the Prime Minister's Award for outstanding contribution in the promotion and development of Yoga.

The event was broadcast online on the Trust's YouTube and Facebook. The Nyas conducts the Shankar Lecture Monthly every month for the purpose of universalisation of Advaita Vedanta philosophy.
