Shehri Samrdhi Utsav to be held from Oct 22-31

In a move to produce food processing entrepreneur in the State, under the DAY-NULM scheme, an exhibition of products made by women of Self Help Groups (SHG)s and street food festival is being organized under Shehri Samridhi Utsav, 2021 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from October 22 to 31.

In this event, it is mandatory for the women of SHGs belonging to all the municipal areas of Jharkhand to take their products to this Shehri Samridhi Utsav Mela to be held in New Delhi.

It is mandatory to have at least 25-50 pieces of all the materials for sale. Goods will be selected based on the quality of the goods. In this regard, it has been directed by the Directorate of Urban Administration (DMA) that all the interested SHGs women of the urban area of the State will submit their product on October, 16 at the office of Directorate of Urban Administration (DMA) located at Dhurwa,   Ranchi.

It may be mentioned here that the State Government has taken steps to brand the skills of women belonging to women SHGs of urban areas to make them self-reliant. Very soon, Gujiya and Pedukia under the brand ‘Son Chiraya’ will be available in various markets of the State Capital some days earlier.

In the presence of Director DMA, Vijaya Jadhav, a large number of members of women self-help groups started production of Pedukia from pure ghee and khoya, keeping the purity intact with worship. Jadhav herself was also seen making Gujiyas to boost the morale of women.

On the occasion, the DMA Director said that under DAULM, “Now the products manufactured by them will reach the market and in the first phase, stalls will be set up at important places of the State Capital, Project Bhawan, Nepal House, Atal Vendor Market, Big Bazaar, Nucleus Mall, Kutchery Chowk and others. The brand name of this product will be Son Chiraya which is issued by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. During this program, along with Jadhav, Assistant Directors Yogendra Prasad and Shailesh Priyadarshi, Smart City GM Rakesh Kumar Nandkolyar, Chief Finance Officer, Jyoti Pushp, Public Relations Officer, Amit Kumar, Saloni Singh Pahwa and others were present.

Meanwhile, a delegation of councilors of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) visited the Smart City Complex to know closely about the development works being done in Ranchi Smart City under construction and expressed satisfaction over the development works of this Smart City being developed with new technology.
