Keeping in view the spike in COVID-19 cases in the state, Himachal Government has issued fresh orders to limit the number of persons in social, academic, sports, entertainment, cultural, religious, political gatherings and other congregations.
Himachal on Wednesday reported six fatalities and 653 fresh COVID-19 cases.
As per the new orders, the number of persons in open spaces or grounds in areas outside containment zones, keeping the size of the ground or space will be 50 percent of the capacity subject to maximum of 200 persons, said an official spokesman. In closed spaces in areas outside the containment zone, the number of persons allowed would be 50 percent of the hall capacity subject to a maximum of 50 persons.
In the last 24 hours in the state, five persons died at Kangra and one died at Sirmaur due to COVID-19. According to Himachal’s evening health bulletin, the death toll reached 1077 while the total case tally stood at 66890 in the state. Of the 653 fresh cases, a maximum of 164 cases were reported in Kangra district followed by 143 in Solan district. There were 4158 active cases in the state till the evening. Kangra has the highest number of active cases at 904 followed by 806 in Solan.
