Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath targeted Samajwadi Party on the first day of the Monsoon session in Vidhan Parishad leading to uproar and shouting.

Taking a jibe at the SP, the chief minister said that some people had started finding the word 'abbajan' unparliamentary. “Will they tell since when this word has become unparliamentary?” he added.

Speaking in the Legislative Council on Tuesday, Yogi Adityanath claimed that the SP wanted Muslim votes but was avoiding ‘abbajan’.

The SP members started shouting and leader of opposition Ahmed Hassan objected to the word `abbajan’. He said the language of the chief minister had hurt them and demanded that it be removed from the House proceedings.

The adamant SP members reached the Well of the House, shouting slogans and refused to return to their seats till their demand for removal of the word from the proceedings was not met. The proceedings of the House were disrupted.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath replied that “we have not named anyone yet”.

The chief minister Said “Who were those faces that used to say they would not take the vaccine jab. This vaccine belongs to BJP, belongs to (Narendra) Modi. Now when abbajan is taking the vaccine jab, everyone is getting vaccinated.”

The chief minister also attacked Congress when without taking name, he claimed that a party came forward offering to provide transport to ferry migrants from other states but when the administration checked the list of vehicles, it was found that some registration numbers were of trucks, two-wheelers or even outdated vehicles.

Yogi Adityanath said that what had been done by Uttar Pradesh and the country, the prime minister and the state was not hidden from anyone. “There was no (Covid) testing capacity in UP. The samples of the first patients who were found in Agra were sent to Pune. But today UP has the capacity to test four lakh Covid samples per day. Today, the state doing the most tests is UP itself. We got the people trapped in every other state to return safely to UP,” he said, adding that the state topped in vaccination with over six crore people already vaccinated so far.

Earlier, as the proceedings started in the House on Tuesday morning, Samajwadi Party members came into the Well, shouting slogans against the government over law and order and other issues.

The House was first adjourned for half an hour at 11:05 am again at 11:37 am.
