The Covid-19 positive cases declined below the 3,000-mark to 2,957 in the 30 districts and the State pool in last 24 hours, it was reported on Tuesday. This was a record low over the last two months. With the new cases, the total positives’ tally increased to 8,83,490. In last 24 hours, a total of 61,608 samples had been tested and test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 4.7 per cent. Out of new cases 1,698 were from quarantine and 1,259 were local contacts. Besides, 70 cases were reported from State pool. Khordha district again reported daily highest cases at 408 followed by Cuttack with 272, Jajpur 260, Baleswar 247, Puri 219, Bhadrak 192, Mayurbhanj 135, Kendrapada 116, Nayagarh 112, Angul 110, Jagatsinghpur 103, Rayagada 63, Koraput 60, Sundargarh 58, Keonjhar 57, Malkangiri 56, Kandhamal 51, Boudh 47, Nabarangpur 45, Dhenkanal 42, Bargarh 41, Kalahandi 38, Balangir 37, Sambalpur 28, Subarnapur 25, Gajapati 24, Ganjam 18, Nuapada 10 and Jharsuguda three. However, as many as 38 more patients succumbed to virus in State in last 24 hours, mounting total death toll to 3,671. Khordha district registered maximum six casualties followed by Cuttack and Bargarh with five each, four each in Mayurbhanj and Puri, three in Sambalpur, two each in Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda and Angul and one each in Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Koraput, Sundargarh and Ganjam. However, another 4,159 patients recovered on day, increasing total recoveries to 8,48,960.
