State students shine in JEE Advanced

The result of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) was released on Friday. Mridul Aggarwal of IIT Delhi zone topped with 96.66 per cent marks. Mridul of Rajasthan has got 348 marks out of 360. He got 120 out of 120 in Physics, 112 in Chemistry and 116 in Maths. This is the highest ever mark in JEE-Advanced. In Jharkhand DPS Ranchi boy, Rahul Kumar is the state topper.

Rahul secured All India Rank (AIR) 248 with a total of 260 marks. Followed by Rahul is Vaibhav Seth of Jamshedpur which received All India Rank (AIR) 291 and Ayush Singh with 297, Tanishk Prasad of Ranchi has got 379 rank. Jharkhand comes under IIT Khargapur zone. Asmit Singh of Bhagalpur Bihar has become the topper from this zone. His All India rank was 120. He was preparing from FIITJEE Center in Ranchi.

Paras Aggarwal, director of Brothers Academy, said that this time the questions of chemistry and physics were easy, so the students scored well in both these subjects. On the other hand, Vikas Gupta, Director, Champ Square, said that while the questions in Maths were complicated, questions in Chemistry and Physics were relatively easy. This time the ranking of Jharkhand students has improved as compared to last year.

Jharkhand topper Rahul said that there was a delay of about 3 months in the JEE Advanced exam, which benefited the students. Students have a lot of time for self study. He said, “I used to give mock tests four days in a week based on the schedule of the advanced exam. Keep writing the maths formula chapter wise. Special focus was given in chemistry.” Also Rahul kept away from social media. Previously, Ankit Kumar Jain (2019) and Dayal Kumar (2020) from the same school were the declared State toppers of JEE Advanced.

Among girls, Vaishnavi of Ranchi has secured All India Rank 684. She has become the topper of Jharkhand by getting the highest rank among girls. It is noteworthy that about 1400 students from Ranchi had appeared in the JEE Advanced examination, in which more than 150 students have been successful.

From JVM Shymali 32 students cleared the test with flying colours, Tanishq Prasad of school has secured 379 rank. From coaching institute Champ Square, 110 students cleared the test  with Ujjwal Dubey securing 731 rank.

From Sarala Birla Public School, Rohan and Aditya Ranjan secured the AIR- 1941 and AIR- 5560, respectively. They were followed by Aditya Keshri, Ankit Raj, Ramkrishan, Ritesh Mehta and Shreyansh Dubey who added another feather to the school’s cap with their exemplary performance.

This time a total of 1,41,699 people appeared in both the papers in the JEE Advanced exam. Out of these 41862 candidates have been qualified. Out of the total qualified candidates, 6452 are girls, while 35410 are boys.

This time the JEE Advanced exam was conducted by IIT Kharagpur on 3 October. 151193 candidates had registered for the examination. 7 foreign candidates have also been successful. The top 2.50 lakh candidates who qualified JEE Main were allowed to appear in JEE Advanced, but only 1,51,193 candidates had registered.
