While the body was sent to RIMS for post-mortem family members alleged his left wrist and shoulder were fractured; besides there were burn marks on his body caused by hot iron rod.

On Sunday night a mini truck was allegedly stolen from Upper Bazaar area, barely situated stone’s throw away from Kotwali police station. Family members said that labourers caught him just because he was passing from the Upper Bazaar area on his bike on the way to his home.

“In the morning some people came to our locality and they were inquiring about one Mohit Kumar. Here we came to know that a youth of our locality has been caught by labourers. When we rushed to the Kotwali police station we found him inside the lock-up room. He was crying for water and treatment. But the police abused family members and asked them to go back. He must have been beaten by police also. After half an hour police called us that he has been taken to hospital and his condition has deteriorated,” said one of the family members of the deceased.
