Third wave: Emphasis on children, pregnant women

Chhattisgarh Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo on Thursday laid top priority on treatment and developing infrastructure in hospitals for children and pregnant women keeping in view the expected third Covid-19 wave.

He also directed officials to ensure post Covid management.

Virtually holding a meeting of senior department officials and medical college experts, Singh Deo held discussion on the third wave which is reported to hurt children the most.He directed officials and experts to ensure all infrastructure in place for future needs, mainly dealing with paediatric care and ICUs in the medical colleges. He also called for assessing the present situation and come up with better suggestions to the Health Department. The Medical Colleges should also set up a Post Covid Management system in place.

The Minister said there are reports that certain medicines not necessary for Covid treatment are being wrongly used. It is showing side effects on the recovered patients.
