The Bahraich police on Saturday nabbed three killers who had murdered a Mumbai resident woman and her three children and had dumped their bodies in the thickets in Farakhpur police station area to hide the crime.

The accused were identified as Nanku and his aides Salman Khan and Danish Khan, all of Farkhpur police station area of Bahraich district. The police team also recovered three mobile phones, the cell phone of the woman and a knife.

The accused confessed their crime and disclosed that they slit the throats of the victims and then dumped their bodies in the thickets to hide their crime.

The UP government announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to the police team which worked out the case within one week. The team was also given a cash reward of Rs 50,000 by IG Range Deviatan and Rs 25,000 by the superintendent of police of Bahraich.

Nanku is the main culprit in the case while Salman and Danish assisted him in the crime for money.

The woman along with her children was living separately from her husband at her parents’ house in Thane district of Mumbai. She worked at a shop selling idli and dosa in Thane and came in contact with Nanku who also worked in the shop.

Nanku, who was already married, lied to the victim that he was single and befriended her.

The woman, who had a plan to marry Nanku, had given money to Nanku after selling her small house (kholi) so that he could run his own business before marrying her. But Nanku ditched her and started distancing from her. The woman sensed foulness and pressed Nanku to marry her. To get rid of her, Nanku planned to kill the woman and her children to hide his crime forever.

Nanku asked her to visit his house in Bahraich and they reached Bahraich on September 10. On the way, Nanku called his aides and later he killed the woman and her children, including her son, and dumped the bodies at two different places.

The police had recovered bodies on September 11 and September 12 respectively. The police team succeeded in ascertaining the identities of the deceased and worked on the case. The CCTV footage showed Nanku and his aides’ presence at a bus station in Bahraich, at a hotel in Lucknow and they were rounded up.
